On 19th May 2013, Segei Diaghilev’s the impresario of the Ballets Russes, presented the premiere of a new piece by Igor Stravinsky in Paris. Billed as a Portrait of Pagan Russia, The Rite of Spring sat in the centre of a very traditional evening of popular favourites. Yet it caused a riot in the theatre. Many would later hail that evening as the birth of Modernism.
Odyssey recreates the programme of that momentous chaotic evening.
