Our
Story

Odyssey Festival Orchestra is a new orchestra designed principally for 18-30 year-olds. Its inaugural concert was in September 2022 at Cadogan Hall.

We aim to present music in a bold and creative atmosphere and to the highest standards. We also aspire to build a new, younger, more philosophically engaged audience for our musical adventures. We aspire to present music in the context of its time. We want to inform as well as to entertain.

We are committed to improving diversity in classical music. We recruit players from a diverse range of backgrounds. We provide generously subsidised tickets to selected London state schools and our outreach programme aims to provide opportunities for students to work with our musicians. We are also committed to the development of our players, providing first rate instrumental tutors for our courses as well as the opportunity to perform in London’s top concert venues.

Playing as part of the orchestra is exhilarating. It is also a cultural learning curve, which benefits our players whether they're a professional musician early in their career, a music student, or a talented amateur who does something else entirely during the day.

We have three very exciting concerts lined up for our 2023/2024 season. We are looking for new players to join us - please sign up for auditions here!
